Canada

Canadian viticulture is somewhat hampered by the cold climate, much of the country being too cold to grow grapes. Nevertheless, when the vikings landed on the eastern shores of Canada they named the place Vinland for the native grapes growing there. Some of the provinces have appellation standards which they enforce, others do not.
