2005 Meritage Monticello

The King's signature blend of 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 20% Petit Verdot. Aged for 15 months in French and American oak. The Kings recommend drinking it around 2012.

2011 tasting - This light, somewhat cloudy red has a deep bouquet with chocolate hints. The dry, spicy flavor is followed up with a puckeringly tart finish.

2008 tasting - A dark, transparent red, this Meritage has a fairly light bouquet and a dry, tart, chewy flavor coupled to a dry, tart finish.
