Green Valley of Russian River Valley Sonoma County, California Founded December 21st, 1983, the Green Valley AVA is a small region in central Sonoma County inside the Russian River Valley. To reflect the growing popularity of its superappellation on April 23, 2007 this viticulture area changed its name from �Sonoma County Green Valley� to �Green Valley of Russian River Valley� although the former name can still be used until April 23, 2009.
