Lugana is a wine grown in the Italian provinces of Brescia and Verona. It was granted DOC status in 1967 and is made from Trebbiano di Soave, localmente denominato Trebbiano di Lugana, and as much as 10% other whites. Lugana must minimally have 11% alcohol, or 12% for the Superiore and 11.5% for the Spumante varieties of the wine. The Superiore must additionally be aged 1 year, after the first of October the year following the harvest.
