Torgiano

Torgiano is a wine produced in the Torgiano commune of Perugia; hence the name. It was established as an DOC wine on 20 March 1968, one of the first in this region. Several blends are made (Bianco, Spumante, Rosato and Rosso) as well as the varietal specific wines Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling Italico, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Nero. In 1990 the Rosso Riserva was raised to a DOCG.
