Rosso di Montepulciano, declared a DOC on 21 December 1988, is a red wine grown in the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano area of Italia's Siena province. Using basically the same grapes as the more famous wine, minus the prohibition against Malvasia del Chianti, this wine requires only 11.5% alcohol and aging only until March 1st of the year following harvest.
