Vin Santo del Chianti Classico is located in the same territory as Chianti Classico in the Italian provinces of Firenze and Siena. The DOC was created on 24 October 1995. The wine is made two ways (1) at least 70% Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia, styles secco and amabile, 16% minimum alcohol, and (2) at least 50% Sangiovese, styles regular and occhio di pernice, 17% minimum alcohol. Both require 3 years of aging or 4 years to be labeled Riserva.
