Monteregio di Massa Marittima is a DOC was created on 3 October 1994. This wine is grown in the Grosseto province of the Toscana region, including the entire communes of Massa Marittima and Monterotondo Marittimo as well as parts of Roccastrada, Gavorrano, Castiglione della Pescaia, Scarlino and Follonica. It can be one of the blends Bianco, Rosso, Rosato or the dessert wines Vin Santo and Vin Santo Occhio di Pernice or, addtionally, the wine may also be made from the specific varietal Vermentino.
