Bianco di Pitigliano is a wine grown in the Grosseto province of the Toscana region. This DOC was created on 28 March 1966 on the volcanic soils around Bolsena lake. The wine is made from Trebbiano Toscano (50-80%), Greco, Malvasia bianca toscana and Verdello (maximum 20%), Grechetto, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot Bianco and Riesling Italico (individually maximum 15%, jointly maximum 30%), and other white grapes (maximum 10%). The regular wine requires a minimum 11% alcohol while the Spumante requires 11.5% and Superiore requires 12%.
