Erbaluce di Caluso, Caluso for short, is a wine grown in the provinces of Vercelli and Turin in the Piemonte region. It was declared a DOC on 9 July 1967. The wine is made from 100% Erbaluce vinified to an alcohol level of at least 11%. A Spumante (sparkling) is also made in this DOC, requiring 11.5% alcohol at a minimum. The Passito of this appellation requires 17% alcohol and 4 years of aging - five to be labeled Riserva.
