Biferno is a wine grown and vinified from the grapes Montepulciano, Trebbiano Toscano, Aglianico, Bombino Bianco, Malvasia bianca and others in the Campobasso province of the Molise region. This DOC was created on 26 April 1983. The Rosso requires at least 11.5% alcohol, but with 13% and 3 years of aging qualifies to be a Riserva. The Rosato also requires at least 11.5% alcohol, whereas the Bianco requires only 10.5%.
