Oltrepò Pavese is a wine grown in the province Pavia, which is in the Lombardian region of Italia. It was granted its DOC status on 6 August 1970. This DOC allows for the blended reds Rosso, Rosso Riserva, Rosato, Buttafuoco, Sangue di Giuda and Sauvignon as well as wines made with one of the specific grape varietals Barbera, Bonarda, Riesling Italico, Riesling Renano, Cortese, Moscato, Malvasia, Pinot Nero, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition to simple wines a Bianco or Rosato Spumante (sparkling) wine can also be made and the Moscato can be done in the styles Passito or Liquoroso.
