The red wine Pollino is produced in the Calabrian province of Cosenza. It was granted its DOC status in 1975 and is made from the grapes Gaglioppo, Greco Nero, Malvasia Bianca, Montonico Bianco and Guarnaccia Bianca. Usually having a minimum 12% alcohol, if it has more than 12.5% alcohol and is aged at least 2 years then it is considered Superiore.
