Prädikatswein

Deutschland

Prädikatswein is Deutschland's highest quality wine, which until 2007 was called Qualitätswein mit Prädikat. It is made in the same Weinbaugebiete as Qualitätswein and is strickly divided by the Oeschle scale:

Kabinett - at least 73 °Oe
Spätlese - at least 85 °Oe
Auslese - at least 95 °Oe
Beerenauslese - at least 125 °Oe
Trockenbeerenauslese - at least 150 °Oe

Additional, the freezing conditions in some parts of Deutschland allow for a true Eiswein to be made from grapes frozen to at least -7 °C and pressed at that same temperature.
